What You Value Matters

“And the day came when the risk it took to remain in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

With this sentence, for me, Anais Nin sums up the sensation many encounter each day as they make choices in their favour, yes actually choose in line with their values and true being, as opposed to settling for a compromised ‘safe’ option.

Last week I was told that the greatest difficulty being faced by the person concerned was ‘being oneself’. Within their large, prestigious institution the pressure to ‘conform’ was at times overbearing and it required a constant effort to maintain alignment with one’s beliefs and values.

With over three quarters of the year behind us, I’d like today to acknowledge all those with whom I’ve worked this year so far for their courage to reach out and claim their ‘corner of the universe’, be it through the choices they’ve made, their physical location or a commitment to strive for a life lived to the fullest on their terms.

On the Home page of my website I have a quotation by Marianne Williamson which though appearing at the end of the page is, in reality, the foundation for all the words above it. I’ll let you visit the site to see what I’m referring to.

If you’d like to get in touch to evaluate how coaching could be useful to you as you blossom in the sunlight of your objectives, I’m here.

Ciao for now.
