Reflections – Sensing the season through sight

Looking around provides us with the sights of the season. Depending on where we are, these might be summer scenes or winter wonders.

Yet the words of the French airman and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry offer us another vision of the present: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly.”

We can choose to pay attention to whatever the world puts before us, or decide to nurture ourselves through a selective process built around the idea of seeing with the heart. Our perception of life invariably alters depending on the vision we have of it.

Before moving forward towards objectives and goals, right now I am enjoying just seeing with the heart. Faces thought to be familiar are in actual fact full of expressions never witnessed before; streets and buildings encountered over a lifetime seem suddenly new to me.

Taking time to see the season through the heart is proving to be an interesting experience, offering an abundance of unexpected sights. I suppose we could say it is seeing with love.

Looking beyond the comfort zone to explore choices is a characteristic of many desiring to live life aligned to the heart. Indeed, many times the coaching conversation can be a setting for such exploration as one sees life from a new perspective or two.

In the meantime, kindest wishes to you and thanks for stopping by here today.
