Reflections – Free thinking

Our freedom begins with ourselves – Adam Michnik

Free thinking is a form of freedom. Daily we might find ourselves in situations requiring us to make decisions.

Whether we go with the crowd, transfer our individual decision-making capacity to someone else or apply free thinking to the question before taking a position, is itself a freedom we have. The choice is ours, the consequences of our selection likewise.

Working in the fields of professional development and personal growth, I often meet people who are following study or career paths to please family or friends. Though they pour time, money and energy into their efforts, accomplishments in such activities invariably leave them unfulfilled.

Thinking freely for ourselves allows us to take ownership of our eventual choices, actions and even successes. In doing so, we may also provide contentment to those around us as they witness us embracing that which truly renders us fulfilled.

Thanks for choosing to read this today. If you’d like to share your thoughts on the issue of free thinking, please leave a comment below.

Kindest regards.
