Discipline

“Though it takes discipline to focus on our goals, if we do not put in the effort, who will?” #bgdtcoaching.

Most people nowadays know what they need to do to complete any given task; information is widely available concerning all but a few areas of life. The difficulty in achieving anything often comes from the lack of discipline in a) getting started and b) completing the process.

We may find it easier to turn our attention to whatever crops up than be disciplined enough to see a task through to the end. Time management experts speak of switching e-mail notification settings to ‘Off’ and blocking chunks of the day to get things done.

Whilst appreciating these ideas, let’s not forget they take discipline to implement and adhere to.

In terms of personal achievement, though it takes discipline to focus on our goals, if we do not put in the effort, who will? It is not fair to expect others to place our objectives ahead of theirs. And our level of discipline, focus and effort speaks loudly about how important something is to us.
