Hoping progress is constant, disregarding the idea of ever stopping now and again, can set us up to be disappointed on occasions.
No matter how prepared we are and irrespective of our desire to reach our goal, stopping now and again is often a fundamental part of our eventual way forward. The benefits obtained from stopping now and again, or at least slowing down, have been noted here before (click here to read).
However, right now we may wish to look at the question of stopping now and again from the perspective of living each moment, even as we engage in the various steps making up most activities.
The enforced break gives us an opportunity to catch our breath, reconnect with the present rather than remain focused on the future or stuck in what has been.
Stopping now and again obliges us to lift our eyes, so to speak, from the task in front of us. And just like the pause we might notice before each In breath, stopping now and again allows us to appreciate life by embracing it, also as we seemingly do nothing.
