Ahead of ourselves

There is no doubt at times we get ahead of ourselves. The moment could be embracing our attention and filling us with a sense of awe and wonder. Getting ahead of ourselves, in such circumstances, probably doesn’t actually produce too many difficulties for us.

Problems begin, on the other hand, if we have miscalculated our capacity to live the present situation fully. Our resources are perhaps stretched as we get ahead of ourselves.

Looking at the question from another perspective, we may need to get ahead of ourselves if we are stuck in a difficult location, figuratively and/or physically, due to procrastination and fears. Without moving ahead of ourselves in such instances our potential would remain unfulfilled.

Seeing ourselves as if we were a third party might seem a strange suggestion. However, shifting ahead of ourselves, putting some distance between ourselves and the actual moment, merely takes a touch of imagination and a desire to connect with our intuition. Clarity is found by looking.
