Looking at the advertising currently surrounding us, it is easy to think life is all about moving on from one thing to another.
Nothing appears to be in fashion for more than five minutes and objects all come with built-in obsolescence as standard. Of course, all things are transient. Yet moving on from one item to another at the rate proposed by the ad world seems somewhat exaggerated.
Rather than moving on as if a butterfly flitting around continuously, we may choose to take a step only when our heart suggests it is right to do so. In this manner our actions will follow precise guidelines and life, at least that part of it under our control, would take on a more balanced feel to it.
Moving on with the idea, we might wish to explore the impact a period of stillness – either before or after an act of moving one – could have on us. Blending movement and stillness has the potential to permit us to engage with new elements whilst giving ourselves time to actually appreciate them.
From a more practical perspective, moving on is a moment in which we are able to extend our awareness by exploring new horizons. Often the act of packing can be an occasion to assess what is really important to us. However we view the issue of moving on, thanks for reading this post today.
