Take it or leave it

Limited choices sign

Take it or leave it‘, the choice is ours. Actually in many cases that is not really true, but let’s not worry about such things right now.

With a supposedly limited choice before us, ‘take it or leave it‘, comes the additional option of selecting neither and walking away. Very rarely are we obliged to accept ultimatums having a potentially negative outcome for us either way we choose.

Take it or leave it‘ might also be read as a suggestion for how we treat the various thoughts floating in and out of our mind as we settle down to work. Seeing the thoughts as unwanted distractions, we will probably decide to leave them instead of taking them. If working on a creative endeavour, on the other hand, the random ideas might be viewed as sources of inspiration.

As ever, the theme expressed here is set out for reflection. There is no desire to suggest one way of living, working or being is better than another. If there is a possibly useful idea here, then you are absolutely free to either take it or leave it as you see best.
