Clarity concerning our values, goals and the extent we are prepared to strive to achieve them underpins the notion of changing on our terms.
Changing on our terms implies we are a) wanting to change and b) prepared to do so. With these two points in place, let’s look at what it is we are attempting to change.
Changing on our terms might involve letting go of toxic habits limiting our progress or impairing on our general satisfaction with life.
We may also wish to consider taking up activities designed to further align our routine with intentions. Establishing new schedules, perhaps some impacting on people accustomed to us ‘living as if on autopilot’, takes effort. Not doing so, on the other hand, suggests we are operating in the shadow of ourselves.
